1. Understanding Hardware Security

Private Keys: Never leave your device. The Ledger keeps them isolated from your internet-connected computer.
Secure Element: Utilizes a certified chip (CC EAL5+) designed to withstand sophisticated attacks.
Physical Confirmation: Every transaction must be verified by pressing buttons on the device itself.

Step 1

Power on the device and select 'Set up as new device'.

Step 2

Choose a strong **4 to 8 digit PIN** code. Memorize it—it's your daily login.

Step 3

Confirm your PIN code to complete the device lock setup.

This is the **Master Key** to your assets. Guard it with your life.

Software Companion: Ledger Live is the official desktop and mobile application to manage your portfolio.

Adding Accounts: Connect your Ledger, unlock it with your PIN, and install the necessary coin apps via Ledger Live's Manager.

Sending/Receiving: All receive addresses are generated by the app, but all **sending** must be verified on the device screen.
